Blair Waldorf's "Bumpits" Hair Secret
How long does it take for Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester to get Blair Waldorf's famous bouffant-and-headband hairstyle? Seconds! After teasing hair at the crown, Gossip Girl hairstylist Jennifer Johnson simply sticks in a Bumpits Hair Volumizing Leave-In Insert behind the teased strands. I was having a lazy day this weekend and watching tv for the first time in weeks and I was a commercial for Bumpits, which is a hair volumizing insert. Has anyone tried it? I have very flat, fine, thin Irish hair and there aren’t many products that do not make my hair even flatter or sticky. Not sure of this would stay in my thin hair or slide right out….
I ordered Bumpits a few months back before it was on tv. A friend of mine had heard about it from her stylist, purchased it and is now addicted to wearing it and is sporting a new Bumpits style everyday. I told her to start posting her Bumpits style photos here so the rest of us can get some ideas. Granted, her hair is a little thicker than mine, but I can achieve most of the same styles now with a little work. Some of us aren’t as lucky to be born with a thick head of hair. : ) Even though my hair is on the thinner side, the Bumpits stay in place all day! They are easy to put in and easy to take out. The mini bump I think would work better in thicker hair though as my hair is think so I can create the same effect with just two bobby pins. Finally, I plus to thin hair!

Have you tried wearing the Bumpit with your hair down, or will it stay in even without accessories?
You can definitely wear the Bumpits with your hair down, I would just use the regular size Bumpit though. It has gripping edges along the bottom, so it stays secure all day with a little teasing and hairspray. The Hollywood Bumpit would be too large for a down style, but works great with a headband and pony. I think my twin sister has been wearing this look for the last month!
I just purchased the Bumpits in brunette. My hair is very dark blonde, so I was sure if I should get the dark blonde or brunette. I hoping it blends well. We’ll see. I really like the headband/ponytail look on the website www.bumpits.com. The models hair doesn’t look too thick so hopefully it will look the same on me. Keep ya posted!

I mistakenly ordered the dark blonde Bumpits instead of the brunette Bumpits and my hair is dark brown. They seem to blend just fine so luckily no need to return! : ) My hair is cut in a shorter bob, so I’ve actually been combining the mini bump with two bobbies and the regular bump for the back and it looks GREAT! Getting lots of compliments.
